A mineral world : soil and sand
The origin of the platform
In 1997 the former Walloon Waste Office (OWD) – now named DSD for Département du Sol et des Déchets – put its finger on a specific environmental problem: Wallonia's lack of a recovery and recycling centre for local foundry sand. “BelgArena” - the Belgian sand processing centre – was born of this realisation.
