For over 10 years, Belgarena has been part of a voluntary environmental sustainability initiative. This initiative is in line with the principles of Regulation 2020/852 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Belgarena aims to deal with the growing negative external factors caused by climate disruption, loss of biodiversity, overconsumption of resources, growing pressure on water resources and the use of hazardous chemical substances and preparations.
To this end, Belgarena has implemented an action plan that specifies its commitments for the years to come and aims to communicate transparently on the implementation of this plan.
Belgarena also aims to set up partnerships with other local players in order to intensify all the actions.
Further to a detailed diagnosis, Belgarena has defined its sustainability challenges on the basis of its activities.
These challenges cover the following areas:

- Energy;
- Resilience and durability;
- Quality environment;
- Circular economy;
- Biodiversity;
- Steering;
- Influence;
- Health, well-being and safety.
